Carmela Rita Sokolowski

Carmela Rita Sokolowski, of Shirley, NY, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on January 5, 1957, in Queens, New York, Carmela touched the lives of many with her kindness and selfless nature.

Carmela was a devoted mother to Kristina and John, and a cherished grandmother to Nikolas and Dominik, who brought immense joy to her life. She deeply treasured family traditions, especially the joy of baking during the holidays, creating lasting memories for those she loved.

Carmela had a vibrant spirit that brightened the lives of all who knew her. Her great laugh was infectious, and her home was often filled with music, with friends readily joining in whenever she sang. She was a truly selfless individual, always prioritizing the needs and wants of others above her own. Carmela leaves behind a wealth of cherished memories and will be deeply missed by her many friends and her loving family.
